Dermal Fillers

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are gels made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the skin and helps maintain hydration, volume, and elasticity. When expertly injected, these fillers integrate smoothly with the skin’s tissues to restore lost fullness.

Fillers are a non-surgical cosmetic treatment designed to offer a subtle way to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As we age the structural support of our face underneath our skin goes through many changes.  In a sense the ‘scaffolding’ of our face loses strength leading to sagging skin, unwanted jowls and folds.

These concerns can all be addressed by carefully positioned, subtle amounts of filler in specific, targeted areas repairing this scaffolding and support for the skin. This restores youthful volume and enhances your natural beauty by smoothing and contouring the face, softening lines and restoring harmony. The result is a beautifully refreshed appearance that looks effortless, balanced, and uniquely you.

Areas We Treat

At The Coombe Clinic we focus on enhancing your facial features based on a thorough facial assessment and through discussion with you to discover your aims and concerns. We offer filler treatments to cheeks, lips and the lower face.

Cheek filler adds volume to the midface which can produce a subtle lifting of the lower facial tissues around the mouth and jawline that commonly cause concern.

Filler can also enhance several aspects of your lips and surrounding area. Common treatment areas include the upper and lower lips, where volume can be added for a fuller look. Fillers can also be used to correct asymmetry between the left and right sides of the lips, ensuring a balanced appearance. Fine lines around the mouth, sometimes called “smoker’s lines,” can be softened for a smoother finish. Each treatment is tailored to your facial features and preferences, helping you achieve natural, flattering results that suit your unique look.

We also offer filler treatments to the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Over time, natural facial expressions and a gradual loss of volume can cause lines to appear around the mouth. Nasolabial folds are the creases that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, while marionette lines extend downward from the mouth toward the chin. Together, these lines can make the face look tired or less uplifted. Subtle, expertly placed filler can help smooth and soften these areas, restoring balance and a refreshed, naturally youthful look.

cheek filler

Cheek filler is a popular non‑surgical treatment designed to restore or enhance volume in the mid‑face area. As we age, natural fat and collagen in the cheeks gradually diminish, which can cause the face to appear flatter or less defined. This loss of volume also contributes to skin laxity and folds in the lower face. Dermal fillers are carefully placed to lift and contour the cheekbones, creating a more youthful, balanced appearance, improving signs of aging in both the mid and lower face. This subtle enhancement can refresh the entire face, improving definition while maintaining a naturally beautiful look.

An individualised approach is taken to best determine which areas of the cheek would benefit most from volume replacement.

Lip fillers

Lip fillers are tailored to your individual goals, whether you want a subtle enhancement or a fuller appearance. The procedure is quick, with results visible almost immediately. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in your body, so it integrates smoothly and feels natural.

Lip fillers can improve symmetry, define the lip border, and smooth out fine lines around the mouth. The treatment is suitable for adults of all ages who wish to restore lost volume or simply achieve a more defined pout. At The Coombe Clinic, your comfort and satisfaction are prioritised, ensuring a safe and personalised experience from start to finish.

Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines

Nasolabial folds and marionette lines are two of the most common age-related facial concerns, often caused by a natural loss of volume and collagen in the skin. At The Coombe Clinic, these lines can be effectively softened using advanced dermal filler treatments tailored to restore youthful contours.

Nasolabial folds, which run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, are treated by carefully injecting dermal filler to replenish volume and create a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

Marionette lines, extending downward from the corners of the mouth, can also be gently lifted using filler to reduce any shadowing or sagging around the lower face.

Every treatment is fully bespoke following a detailed consultation with our experienced aesthetic practitioner.

The Coombe Clinic Process

What to Expect

Consultation

Your experience at The Coombe Clinic starts with a detailed consultation. During this session, your practitioner listens to your goals, does a full facial assessment and explains the treatment options. A review of your medical history will be undertaken to ensure suitability for filler treatment and to ensure the best approach. All your questions are answered, so you feel confident before proceeding.

Procedure

Filler procedures are generally quick and straightforward. After cleansing the area, a fine needle or cannula is used to carefully inject the filler into targeted areas. For lips a topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort. The process usually takes up to an hour dependent on area(s) treated. You’ll see the results immediately, with adjustments made to achieve your ideal look.

Aftercare

After your treatment, you’ll receive clear aftercare instructions to support a smooth recovery. You may experience mild swelling or bruising, which typically settles within a few days. It’s best to avoid touching or applying pressure to the area of treatment for the first 24 hours. Your practitioner remains available for any questions, ensuring you feel supported as you enjoy your new look.
